Originally a self-taught pop and jazz musician, David Burnand is Visiting Professor in Music and Multimedia at the Royal College of Music in London. He composes film and electroacoustic music, and writes primarily on the subjects of film composition and the broader training and education of composers.
David teaches on the Masters in Composition for Screen programme at the RCM, and is currently supervising doctoral students researching film composition, sonic art and extended performance practice with electroacoustics. He is external examiner for the BA Hons in Sound Arts at LCC University of the Arts, for the MA in Audio Production at the University of Westminster, and the MA in Composition at Bath Spa University.
